Strategies generally receives commissions from the providers of the products we recommend. It will be rare, therefore, that you will actually receive an invoice from us.

However there are a few services that we offer for which we charge a fixed fee and these fees will be mentioned on the appropriate page of this website.

If you prefer to use us entirely on a fee basis we are more than happy to comply with you wishes in which case – where possible – we will instruct the supplier not to pay us a commission or where not possible (as is the case with most Dutch suppliers) we will reduce our invoice to you by any commissions received.

In all cases the first meeting is ALWAYS without obligation and without cost to you.

Strategies does not handle client monies. All premiums, contributions and investments will pass directly from you to the service provider. Eventually, of course, all benefits will pass directly from the provider back to you.

The areas where Strategies can be of assistance to you are:-

Local {jumpto:1077:mortgages} and {jumpto:1091:remortgaging}. We are fully qualified to arrange mortgages directly with a wide range of local providers. Although all documentation is produced in Dutch we will explain in clear English what your commitments are and – if you wish – what alternatives are available to you.

{jumpto:1086:Property purchase} – introduces you to the complex process of buying a home and details the costs and the pitfalls of buying property in The Netherlands.

{jumpto:1119:Property Search} Service. Effectively, everything a local estate agent (makelaar) would do except actually visit properties with you. However, we do it in clear English and you will never hear us say “That’s how things are done in Holland”. For this we charge a fixed fee of €1,500 regardless of the value of the property.

Local insurances such as building and contents insurance for your home, personal liability, legal assistance, vehicle insurance, local healthcare insurance, etc. However this service is only available to existing clients or to new clients for whom we are providing other services.

Pensions. Where appropriate we can arrange local, tax-efficient personal pensions ensuring that – before you set pen to paper – you fully understand what your commitment is even though all the documentation will be in Dutch. Alternatively we can arrange an offshore pension plan to suit your specific circumstances making sure that – again, before you set pen to paper – you fully understand what your commitment is.

Investments. Strategies does not pretend to be investment managers. However after considerable research we have identified a number of investment funds which we believe are appropriate for the investor looking for a better return than simply leaving cash on deposit and/or for the investor who wishes to lower the risk profile of an existing portfolio. We are more than happy to discuss these with you.

For a fixed fee of €125 we will complete your Dutch tax return. Also – on a fee basis -we are more than happy to review your personal tax situation and provide advice on how to improve it.
